Give us some peanuts, Cracker Jack and Jacob Black!

Twilight teen hearthrob Taylor Lautner was one of many celebs in the stands for the Dodgers vs. Colorado Rockies game at Dodger Stadium in El Lay on Monday night.

So nice to see at least one of the Twilight stars that showers!

Hopefully he doesn't smoke too!

Alone I lay and think of others.

Alone I see them call for one another.

Alone I wonder how they can help themselves.

Alone I tell them whom to tell.

Alone I hope to learn from them.

Alone I speak for all of them.

Alone I advocate for the things that are good.

Alone I scream when they tell me that I don't care for you.

Alone I see the pain they tried to hide.

Alone I see the voice they have inside.

Alone I whisper that I hope some day they'll be fine.

Alone I wonder if I will be fine.

Many of us wouldn't mind shedding a few excess pounds, which is why the health industry makes a killing selling diets, exercise gear, and weight-loss plans. But a new study finds that being overweight could help you live longer.

Following 11,326 Canadian adults over a 12-year period (smoking status, physical activity, age, gender, and alcohol consumption were all accounted for), the study found that people who are overweight but not obese, with a body mass index of 25 to 29.9, tend to live longer than those who are normal weight (B.M.I. of 18.5 to 24.9). Specifically, the risk of dying for overweight persons was 17 percent lower than for people of normal weight.

The study neglected to say how much longer overweight people would live, and whether its results could be extended to American and other audiences. However, its conclusions did corroborate similar findings by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Cancer Institute that overweight adults are less likely than normal weight adults to die from a variety of diseases, including infections and lung disease.

All of which is, perhaps, a reminder to focus less on losing weight (at least where a few excess pounds are concerned) and more on achieving healthier eating and exercise habits. But if you are going to continue tracking your fat, check out our post on how to measure your body fat at home to do so accurately.

I like being single! I am not ready to deal with all the emotional things in relationships. The caring, the how are you, the telling the guy they are cute and how they make you feel. ...Yuck... I am going to forks get a gay vampire and have an affair with a werewolf!

Certain foods just go together, like red meats and rosemary, garlic and fish, and oatmeal and orange juice. Men's Health suggests those pairings and others exist for a reason—your body wants more of their nutritional synergy.

Along with the more common knowledge pairings listed above, Men's Health list suggests serving (whole) soy and salmon together, pairing almonds and yogurt, and complementing side dishes of tomatoes and broccoli. Each pairing has its own dietary reason, usually backed up by research studies or dietitian suggestion, such as the thinking behind orange juice and oatmeal:

A study from the Antioxidants Research Lab at the U.S. Department of Agriculture shows that drinking vitamin C-rich orange juice while eating a bowl of real oatmeal (read: not processed) cleans your arteries and prevents heart attacks with two times as much efficacy than if you were to ingest either breakfast staple alone. The reason? The organic compounds in both foods, called phenols, stabilize your LDL cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein, or so-called "bad" cholesterol) when consumed together.

Hit the list below for 12 more food combination suggestions, which, if nothing else, provide some food for thought on menu planning.

Goodbye Kathy! You'll be missed. Sad that you are gone but glad that you're in a better place. If you knew her you'd agree.

May 2009

I can't believe May has already passed! I suppose that happens every month when you look back at it. I have lived alone for 5 months and loving it. The funny thing is that when people ask me what the best and worst part of living alone. I have the same answer for both questions: LIVING ALONE! The pros definitely out way the cons. Still in school got an A- in drug dependency, who'd guess that one. I still have my trainer but at the end of the month we both got sick so I have yet to get my final weight. Work is going well, I just starting to realize that non-profits can be as concerned with money as for-profit company's. The girls are crazy and well that's just caps the month of May! Til next update! Stay sober!
